a KC COLUMN by KC Carlson

Look out! There’s a whole lotta Looney goin’ on! The DC world is being invaded by the Looney-verse! As in Looney Tunes, the animated collective of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety & Sylvester, as well as the road Runner as well as Wile E. Coyote (“Super Genius”), among lots of others. as well as this time, they’re not just taking over the covers… they’re teaming up with the heroes in six 48-page specials on sale in June. Here’s the scoop, you nin-cow-poops!

Batman/Elmer Fudd special #1

BATMAN/ELMER FUDD special #1

written by Tom King, art as well as cover by Lee Weeks

backup story written by King with art by Byron Vaughns

After a possibility satisfying in upper class society with billionaire Bruce Wayne, Elmer Fudd becomes consumed with the Batman, stalking him throughout both dark alleys as well as the society pages. Be vewy, vewy peaceful — Elmer’s hunting Bats! Roger says: Of course, Elmer would hang out with millionaires. It’s well well established that he does own a mansion as well as a yacht!

Jonah Hex/Yosemite Sam special #1

JONAH HEX/YOSEMITE SAM special #1

written by Jimmy Palmiotti, art as well as cover by mark Texeira

backup story written by expense Matheny with art by Dave Alvarez

Miner Forty-Niner Yosemite Sam lastly strikes it rich, as well as unexpectedly everybody’s gunning for him! So he hires bounty hunter Jonah Hex to secure him. That may really be a mistake… Ooooh, that rackin’ frackin’…

Legion Of Super-Heroes/Bugs Bunny special #1

LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES/BUGS BUNNY special #1

written by Sam Humphries, art by Tom Grummett as well as Scott Hanna

backup story written as well as drawn by Juan Ortiz

Among the preferred legion stories for a lot of LSH fans is the one where the legion brings their hero as well as motivation Superboy from the 21st century to their time for the very first time. Well, what if something got screwed up, as well as they really grabbed up a long-eared, fuzzy, carrot-chomping, every-bunny instead? will he be called Bunny Boy? are there carrots 1,000 years in the future? Elmer Fudds? (Now that would be odd…)

Lobo/Road Runner special #1

LOBO/ROAD RUNNER special #1

written by expense Morrison, art as well as cover by Kelley Jones

backup story written as well as drawn by Morrison

Wile E. Coyote travels into area to hire Lobo to search down as well as kill the road Runner. What’s easier than that?! nothing I can state right here will top the pictures in my head of the wanton damage that will appear in this comic book. Oh, please let there be anvils!!! Thousands as well as countless anvils!

Martian Manhunter/Marvin The Martian special #1

MARTIAN MANHUNTER/MARVIN THE MARTIAN special #1

written by Steve Orlando as well as Frank Barbere, art by Aaron Lopresti as well as Jerome N. Moore, cover by Lopresti

backup story written by Jim Fanning, with art by John Loter

Cool… Marvin gets his own special! While attempting to halt Marvin’s goal of planetary domination, J’onn is conflicted with his own Martian identity. No really… that’s what it really states here. When I’m done face-palming, ideally someday there will be a Martian Manhunter story where he isn’t conflicted by something. fantastic Rao! He can’t even buy a sandwich without some inner conflict! Is this team-up all about discovering somebody a lot more neurotic than Marvin…?

Wonder Woman/Tazmanian Devil special #1

WONDER WOMAN/TAZMANIAN DEVIL special #1

written by Tony Bedard, art by Barry Kitson, cover by Jim Lee

backup story as well as art by Ben Caldwell

Not much plot information offered for this one. One presumes that the two of them will fight. Hey, keep in mind that Bugs Bunny/Taz animation where they got married at the end? They wouldn’t do that here, would they…? would they?

MORE LOONEY a lot more LOONEY a lot more LOONEY…

DC/Looney Tunes 100-Page incredibly Spectacular #1

Also in June, some traditional DC Comics/Looney Tunes team-ups are being collected in a new printing. All four problems of Superman/Bugs Bunny from 2000 will appear in a new 96-page comic called DC/Looney Tunes 100-Page incredibly Spectacular #1. (They count the covers to get to 100, according to the Carlson Bureau of Comic book Honesty.) as well as that’s not the only team-up in the story: Mr. Mxyzptlk as well as the Do-Do (from Porky in Wackyland, for you animation buffs!) are triggering the Looney characters to appear in the DC world as well as only Superman — as well as a specific wascally wabbit! — can straighten whatever out. Written by mark Evanier, with art by Joe Staton, Mike DeCarlo, as well as Tom Palmer as well as a cover by Steve Rude.

Remember: Don’t go crazy up until June! then you can go Looney!
